Design a personalised beanie hat
The Contrado Custom Made Beanie is printed and sewn in-house using our own pattern. To create the ultimate beanie, we have designed it so it can be worn 2 ways; slightly more fitted, with the trim turned up, or more relaxed and slouchy, with the trim left down. The external of this stylish hat is made from a soft and elastic Diamond Jersey fabric, while the cosy lining is made from the slightly bouncy, heavier Quilted Jersey. You can make your personalised beanie even more bespoke to you by choosing the size, thread colour and optional fabric label.
Your label, your brand
Wear your brand, with your custom Beanie Labels. Brand your beanie with your name or logo: or personalise it for the recipient with their name or a personal message. This raw-edged sewn label is made from the same great fabric as the rest of the beanie, meaning you get great colour consistency, and never have to worry about sewing your own labels again. Fun to wear around town, this custom label is great for building your brand.
Style it with
We can't think of an everyday outfit that a great beanie cap wouldn't look great with. All styles of fashion have adopted this fun accessory to add a street and contemporary edge. Keep it urban cool and team your Custom Made Beanie with a Customised Hoodie and Customised Leggings or why not give it a smarter edge and wear it with skinny jeans and the Custom Bomber Jacket? However you style it, just design your own beanie hat your way and you can't go wrong.
Turn inside out before washing. Iron on the reverse of the printed side. 30°c wash. Low tumble heat. Do not wring. Low heat iron. Steam safe.

Frequently asked questions:
Is the turn-up trim sewn in place?
One of our favourite aspects of the Custom Made Beanie is that you can wear it 2 ways. The turn-up trim isn't sewn in place, so you can wear it turned up, for a more fitted look, or you turned down and create a more slouchy beanie look. If you turn the trim up, you have the option of showcasing your branded label.
Is my custom beanie suitable for winter?
Your personalised beanie is the ideal hat to keep you cosy in the winter. It is made from a double layer of warm fabric; Diamond Jersey on the outside and Quilted Jersey for the lining. These jersey fabrics are warm, very soft and add beautiful texture and detail, which makes them the perfect fabric for the classic beanie.
Can I brand my own line of beanies?
At Contrado, we strive to help designers create their own brands. Your Custom Made Beanie would make the perfect launch pad for someone looking to create their own accessory or fashion line. Opt for adding a fabric label, which is sewn onto the turn-up trim and show the world your talent.
Keep warm with unique beanie designs, created by independent artists and local designers.
To find your perfect hat size for your custom beanie hat, use a soft tape measure or a piece of string (which can be measured afterwards). Place the measuring tape or string just above your ear, and across your forehead, wrapping round to the back of your head. Don't pull too tightly - leave the tape a little loose. If you find your size in the middle of our sizing brackets, go a size up.

What's the best resolution to print in?
We print at 200dpi, which is a good combination of quality and file weight. Ideally your image should be scaled to 100% at 200dpi, this means that no resizing of your file occurs stopping any interpolation.
Should I save my file as a TIFF or JPEG?
For multi-coloured or very detailed files we recommend using a tiff format, but they must be flattened. For simple colours and low detail files, a jpeg is fine.
Why is there a barcode inside my clothing?
Due to our internal processes here at Contrado, there will be a barcode printed on your garment. This is inside the clothing and will not affect your design. It is usually found towards the bottom.
Which colour model should I choose? RGB or CMYK?
If each individual colour is specifically important to your design, choose CYMK as our setup will print each colour with the closest possible match within our available range. If the relationship between the colours within the image is more important choose RGB, this will reduce all colours equally to fit within our range.
What does GSM mean?
Grams per Square Meter (GSM) is an international standard for measuring the weight of paper or fabric. GSM uses the weight of a square meter (1000 x 1000mm) as an indication of the weight and thickness of a given fabric. We class 20-100gsm as light (summer fabrics, gauzes and fine silks), 101-249 gsm as medium (most clothing fabrics) and 250+ gsm as heavy (upholstery fabrics, and other specialist fabrics).
What are bleed areas?
When designing your product, it’s best to make sure that your image is slightly larger than needed. In printing, the extra printed image is referred to as a “Bleed Area” or margin, and it is removed from the finished piece. A bleed area acts as a buffer for slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. however, it’s important to fill your bleed areas completely, or you may end up with white, unprinted strips along the edge of your finished product.
Do you print on garments a customer supplies?
Unfortunately not. All our garments are printed on flat fabric, and sewn into finished products, which gives a better finished result and all-over print. We test meticulously so that we know what gets best results on our fabrics, and our facilities cater perfectly to them. We do however print sublimation paper to order, so if you have access to a heat press you can press your fabrics or flat garments easily.
Can you Align a Pattern or design across panels of a garment?
We always strive for the greatest accuracy when printing and constructing your garments. However, due to unavoidable stretch or movement of the fabric during the stitching process, we cannot guarantee perfect pattern registration across garment seams. We are generally accurate within 2-3mm, which Is close enough for most patterns, but may show slight issues with detailed geometric patterns.
Can I print my own Labels?
Most of our garments now come with printable label space for you to add your own company information and branding! If you would like to sew in your own labels, we also offer Printed Fabric Labels here.
How is your fabric printing eco-friendly?
With environmental consciousness in mind, our fabrics are all printed using completely water based inks. This means no chemicals or solvents are used. Our heat fixing procedure fixes the colours and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water returning into the waste system. We have one facility in London where we conduct all the printing, production and fulfillment.
