How your Outdoor Banner is made
Once you’ve submitted your design through our outdoor banner printing interface, our print technicians use the most up-to-date techniques to create your permanent custom banners. Using deep infusion technology, it penetrates eco-friendly inks deep into the fibres of the waterproof fabric. This results in a crisp, high-quality print. Your banner is then cut to size by skilled craftsmen and stitched by talented seamstresses, and eyelets are added for easy hanging to finish it off.
It is highly unlikely that your banner made to order will need more than a quick wipe down, but just in case they do, you can put them on a 30° wash. They can be tumbled and ironed but only on a low heat.
There are 11 different size options for your banner made to order which vary from 0.6 x 1.4 metres to 1.5 x 6 metres. These come in various proportions, however they are all rectangular and all show as landscape. You can design your custom banners to hang vertically, in portrait orientation, but you will need to do so on a horizontal base.
The number of eyelets used depends on the size of the banner that you have chosen, these can be seen clearly in the waterproof banner printing interface, so you can ensure you don't put any important details of your design where the cut-outs will be.
Outdoor banner printing is fantastic for creating a unique party decoration, and a banner made to order gives you extraordinary freedom. Create your own using our waterproof banner printing service to add an unforgettable finishing touch to any party. Hang outside to make it much easier for the guests to find, or hang above main stands on the beach, in the park, or wherever your outdoors event is taking place.
If you’re at the back of a business park or situated in a particularly rural area, people may pass by and never realise that you’re there. Outdoor banner printing with your company name, logo, and contact details at the gates of the park or by a local public stop will give passers-by a way to check out what you do.
Outdoor banner printing is great for events. Create a banner made to order as an advertisement of an upcoming event that you can hang outdoors, or to show where the event is on the day. Waterproof and easy hanging - advertising has never been easier.
Frequently asked questions:
How many eyelets come on the banner?
This all depends on the size of your chosen banners. Our smallest banners use only six eyelets whereas our largest use eighteen. This has been carefully worked out so that there is enough to make sure your custom banners are fully secure, but not so many that they will interrupt your design.
Only six eyelets? Is that enough?
Believe it or not, yes – it is! Our Linden Waterproof fabric weighs only 120gsm, and our smallest banner is 0.6 x 1.4 metres (0.84 sq. metres), meaning it weighs only just over 100g. Even our largest (1.5 m x 6 m/9 sq. m) only weighs just over 1kg.
Will my banner flap about in the wind?
Waterproof banner printing has the eyelets around the edge, along all four sides, allowing you to make sure every edge is secured. This will hold your banner still even through strong gusts of wind. Of course, if you want a degree of of movement with your outdoor banner printing then you don’t have to fasten it down.

What's the best resolution to print in?
We print at 200dpi, which is a good combination of quality and file weight. Ideally, your image should be scaled to 100% at 200dpi, this means that no resizing of your file occurs stopping any interpolation.
Should I save my file as a TIFF or JPEG?
For multi-coloured or very detailed files we recommend using a tiff format, but they must be flattened. For simple colours and low detail files, a jpeg is fine.
Which colour model should I choose? RGB or CMYK?
We advise providing images in the RGB colour space. Specifically using the sRGB image profile, to achieve best colour results. What does this mean? In your editing software choose RGB as the working space, and assign the image profile as sRGB (full name sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
What does GSM mean?
Grams per Square Meter (GSM) is an international standard for measuring the weight of paper or fabric. GSM uses the weight of a square meter (1000 x 1000mm) as an indication of the weight and thickness of a given fabric. We class 20-100gsm as light (summer fabrics, gauzes and fine silks), 101-249 gsm as medium (most clothing fabrics) and 250+ gsm as heavy (upholstery fabrics, and other specialist fabrics).
What are bleed areas?
When designing your product, it’s best to make sure that your image is slightly larger than needed. In printing, the extra printed image is referred to as a “Bleed Area” or margin, and it is removed from the finished piece. A bleed area acts as a buffer for slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. however, it’s important to fill your bleed areas completely, or you may end up with white, unprinted strips along the edge of your finished product.
Do you print on garments a customer supplies?
Unfortunately not. All our garments are printed on flat fabric and sewn into finished products, which gives a better-finished result and all-over print. We test meticulously so that we know what gets the best results on our fabrics, and our facilities cater perfectly to them. We do however print sublimation paper to order, so if you have access to a heat press you can press your fabrics or flat garments easily.
Can you Align a Pattern or design across panels of a garment?
We always strive for the greatest accuracy when printing and constructing your garments. However, due to unavoidable stretch or movement of the fabric during the stitching process, we cannot guarantee perfect pattern registration across garment seams. We are generally accurate within 2-3mm, which is close enough for most patterns but may show slight issues with detailed geometric patterns.
Can I print my own Labels?
Most of our garments now come with printable label space for you to add your own company information and branding! If you would like to sew in your own labels, we also offer Printed Fabric Labels here.
How is your fabric printing eco-friendly?
With environmental consciousness in mind, our fabrics are all printed using completely water-based inks. This means no chemicals or solvents are used. Our heat fixing procedure fixes the colours and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water returning into the waste system. We have one facility where we conduct all the printing, production and fulfilment.
